All DPO Directed To Address Complaints, Problems Of OPs On Priority: IG

LAHORE: Inspector General Police, Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that Overseas Pakistanis are valuable asset of country and to address their issues and problems is among top priorities of Punjab Police hence all RPO,s and DPO,s are taking initiatives to protect properties of Overseas Pakistanis and personally monitoring to ensure every possible relief to honourable Pakistanis. He further said that due to the Police Khidmat Marakaz Overseas Pakistanis are much facilitated now regarding the issuance of Traffic Licence and other Police service delivery matters as now they do not have to visit different offices for verification of different documents thus saving their precious time. He expressed these views during meeting with a two member delegation, Vice Chairperson Overseas Commission Ch. Waseem and DIG Overseas Commission Nasir Mukhtar Rajpoot from Overseas Pakistani Commission.
During meeting Vice Chairperson Overseas Commission Ch. Waseem appreciated the efforts of Punjab Police for the protection of properties of overseas Pakistanis, staff at overseas counters in DPO offices of every district is ensuring on time redressal of public complaints he further added. During meeting DIG Nasir Mukhtar Rajput briefed IG Punjab about the performance of Overseas Commission, IG Punjab further said that criminal elements involved in illegal grabbing of properties of overseas Pakistanis deserve no leniency and should be dealt with iron hands without any delay.
DIG pays surprise visit to PSs
Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations Wing) Lahore Ashfaq Khan, in continuation of his surprise visits of Police Stations, reached Police Station Gulberg early this morning and inspected lockup, barak, front desk, AVLS control room and other related sections of the Police Station. He also checked the attendance of the staff and record of the reporting room along with cleanliness of the PS. ASP Gulberg Abdul Wahab Khan and SHO Gulberg Muhammad Azhar Khan were present on this occasion. He directed the Police officials and officers to improve their performance and complete the administrative affairs of the Police Station alongwith cleanliness in the early hours of the day.
He directed SDPOs and SHOs of all the Police Stations to remain present in their respective Police Stations also in the morning hours so as to redress the grievances of the citizens.
Ashfaq Khan said that Police Stations are the face of the department and it should be our top priority to provide justice to the citizens. He said that we will try our best to improve the cleanliness conditions of Police offices under Clean and Green Police Stations campaign.
He said that every complainant visiting Police Stations is VVIP and it is mandatory for us to give him due respect and honor. We can only improve the positive image of Police if we change over behavior towards citizens in positive manners. He expressed his strong commitment to continue his surprise visits of the Police Stations to improve the “Thana Culture” with effective monitoring mechanism. DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaq Khan also checked the security arrangements of the commercial banks and business offices at Jail Road and Main Boulevard Gulberg. He directed the Police officers to personally monitor the security arrangements of the commercial banks and other related buildings so as to ensure their safety. Ashfaq Khan visited Accountability Court as well and inspected the security arrangements and deployment of Police there on the hearing of different cases. He directed the concerned Police officers and officials to be vigilant and alert to maintain law and order. He directed the officials to behave politely with the people and deal with them in professional manner. He also checked the Police Response Unit teams deputed at different points of the city and expressed his displeasure over the poor condition of cleanliness of PRU vehicle deputed for patrolling at Old Anarkali area. He directed SP Dolphin Bilal Zafar to take necessary action in this regard and ensure regular cleanliness of the PRU vehicles.
