A first information report registered under sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act, Explosive Substance Act and Pakistan Arms Ordinance on report of CTD sub-inspector Muhammad Akram said the CTD had received information about presence of two Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan terrorists on the Jhang Road, opposite Officers Colony near the canal where the Chinese engineers were residing.

The team raided the place and arrested the suspects, identified as Muhammad Abdullah Wattoo of Arifwala and Khalid Khan of Multan. The CTD recovered more than three kilograms of explosives, detonators, safety fuses, two hand-grenades and two pistols.
