To review the security arrangements for Lailat-ul-Qadar, Chand Raat and Eid Ul Fitar an important video link RPOs / DPOs conference held at Central Police Office.

On Eid Ul Fitar across province 51063 officers and officials will perform security duty for Eid prayers in 22737 mosques and Imambargas and 866 open area gatherings.

 155 walk through gates, 10953 metal detectors and 10849 CCTV cameras will be installed at sensitive mosques and imambargah across Punjab.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that to ensure peace and law & order on Lailat-ul-Qadar, chand raat and eid ul fitar all available resurces should be utilized to provide security to sensitive mosques, imam bargah and eid prayers at open areas so that citizens can worship and celebrate festivity of Eid without any fear or apprehension. He further said that security of mosques, Imambargah and shrines and other worship places should be at high alert on Lailat-ul-Qadar and stern actions should be ensured against one wheelers and aerial firing with zero tolerance. He further said that snipers should be deputed at rooftops of sensitive mosques and imam baragahs and religious places and commandos in their vicinity. Extra force should be deployed for the security of important markets, banks and business centers with increasing the duration of patrolling forces ensuring strict monitoring of all the activities. He directed DIG Traffic Punjab to devise a traffic plan for the smooth flow of traffic ensuring its implementation and to not cause any problems for the citizens at the name of document checking during Eid holidays ensuring a smooth flow of traffic. He also directed Addl IG PHP to stop the number plate checking and unnecessary searching of vehicles to safe travelling families from any trouble from 3rd to 10th June. He further directed to update a list of wanted one wheelers and their parents should be called in police station and directed to give assurity bonds. He directed that search, sweep, combing and intelligent based combing operations should be speeded up in coordination with CTD, special police and other forces especially in the vicinity of hotels, inns , kachi abadis near bus stands to check the details of the residents and also in the surroundings of sensitive & A category mosques and Imambargahs. He further said to continue the video recording at inter provincial and inter district check post and to ensure the security of recreational places, parks and other picnic points according to the SOPS to avoid any untoward incident and mismanagement. He expressed these views while addressing senior officers during the important RPOs and DPOs video link conference today at Central Police Office.

In conference Addl IGP Operations, Inam Ghani briefed the IG Punjab that 51063 officers and officials including 38465 officers and officials, 3970 special police official, 8628 volunteers will perform security duty on Eid prayers in 22737 mosques, imambargahs and 866 open areas Eid gatherings. He further said that 155 walk through gates 10953 metal detectors, 10849 CCTV cameras will be installed at sensitive mosques and imambargah across Punjab and senior officers will personally visit field to review the security arrangements. He further said that on chand raat 20588 officers and officials including 16419 officers and officials, 214 special police officials and 3955 volunteers will perform security duty for the protection of citizens in markets and business centers also at sensitive points 34 walk through gates 3669 metal detectors and 971 CCTV cameras will also be installed.

During the confrecne all RPOs CPOs and DPOs shared eid security plan with IGP on which IGP directed officers that a large number of citizens visit parks and other recreational places after Eid prayer so for security of these places extra force should be deployed and a security plan in consultation with park staff should be devised and officials on security duty should be briefed about the sensitivity of their duty so that they can perform their duties efficiently. He further directed to start a crackdown against liquor dealers specially involved in harmful and substandard wine to avoid death of citizens due to consuming harmful alcohol and also should act against the violation of loud speaker act without any delay. He further said that on Eid proclaimed offenders visit their home so a strategy based action against them should be initiated. He further said that all RPOs, DPOs and CPOs should go out in field and review the security arrangements at sensitive places.

In the meeting Addl IGP Operations Inam Ghani, Addl IG PHP Manzoor Sarwar Chaudhary, Addl IGP CTD Muhammad Tahir Rai, Addl IG Special Branch Zaeem Iqbal Sheikh, DIG Traffic Punjab Dr Akhtar Abass, DIG Operations Captain (R) Atta Muhamamd, DIG Headquarter Afzal Ahmad Kausar and other senior officers were present.
