Protection of the property and the lives of the public is the prime responsibility of the police...

Peaceful protest is the basic right of every individual but the protection of the property and the lives of the public is the prime responsibility of the police which will be ensured at any cost. 
 
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, while answering the questions of the media on the occasion of closing ceremony arranged at National College of Arts Lahore (NCA) in honor of the students got distinction in thesis on Visual Arts. 
 
Provincial police chief further said that in future media will be provided security during the coverage of rallies and public meetings. While briefing the IGP on this occasion, Principal of the National College of Arts (NCA), Dr. Murtaza Jaffari told that 100 thesis on the visual arts were presented by the students but 15 among them were selected. IGP distributed the certificates among the first three position holders named Zorain Murtaza, Ahmad Sajjad and Muhammad Zaman Baloch respectively. 
 
While addressing the students on this occasion, IGP said that his passion for arts is very old and despite of hectic official responsibilities he managed to spare some time to participate in arts activities.
