Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has approved the security plan for the protection of 1089 processions, 2564 Majalis and 129 flashing points on the occasion of Chelum Imam Hussain (R.A) by finalizing the deployment of 50084 security officials.
The deployment will be included G.Os, 231, inspectors, 530, sub-inspectors, 1929, ASIs, 2972, HCs 2984, constables 28479, PQR, 9038, Special Police 1331 and reserve personnel 2590 besides 13353 private male volunteers and 4063 female volunteers.
According to the security plan, 1789 CCTV cameras will be installed for consecutive monitoring of processions, important buildings and other sensitive points. Walk Through gates will be placed at the entry and exit points of precessions and majalis whereas 5449 metal detectors will be used to search the participants of precessions and majalis.
To maintain the religious harmony on the occasion, 679 Peace Committees at police station level, 188 Tehseel level and 38 district level had already been working under the instructions of PPO.
In order to handle any untoward situation on the occasion, 33 companies of Army and 12 companies of Rangers will remain stand by for the purpose.
All kind of leaves of the operational/security staff will be cancelled.
The plan also included the strict monitoring of all those anti-state elements, involved in wall chalking, publication of hatred material, misuse of loudspeaker and provoking sectarianism.
Under the directions of Provincial Police Chief, the traffic police has already finalized the alternate traffic plan on Chelum of Imam Hussain (R.A).
