Crackdown against criminals and proclaimed offenders is going on in district Layyah

As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan Crackdown against criminals and proclaimed offenders is going on in district Layyah.

Police teams arrested number of accused including 34 heinous proclaimed offenders during last month in Layyah, hefty amount of drugs and illegal weapons have also been recovered.

As per directions of Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan Crackdown against criminals and anti-social elements of society along with security high alert is continued in Layyah with speed like all Punjab. Layyah police arrested 34 dangerous proclaimed offenders during one-month actions. Among these arrested proclaimed offenders 04 are of “A” category and 30 are of “B” category. 21 cases have been registered against drugs peddlers along with arresting 21 accused and recovering 3.210-kilo gram chars, 308-litre alcohol whereas 17 cases have been registered against illegal possession of weapons including 01 twelve bore gun, 01 klashankov, 15 pistols of 30 bore with 74 bullets. Collectively 17 accused have been arrested in this regard. DPO Layyah submitted a monthly progress report of Layyah and told that a regular crime meeting is held at DPO office to review actions taken for elimination of criminals and proclaimed offenders. In this meeting, registered cases, progress in the investigation, pending cases and reports of proclaimed offenders by all circle officers are reviewed and assessed.

DPO Layyah said that all resources are being utilized to purge the district from crimes in order to ensure protection of lives and properties of people.

DPO Layyah said that as per the vision of IG Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan the search operations and checking in all district is going on in accordance with the already set SOP and stern campaign against criminals and anti-social elements of society is going on speedily to ensure law and order in the district. As per orders of worthy IG Punjab, teams have been constituted during Ramzan against drug pushers and also campaigns of these teams in Ramzan. He said that additional security has been deployed to the provision of peaceful environment around sensitive markets, imambargahs and trade centres. Furthermore, police teams have been formed to arrest proclaimed offenders and drug pushers and I myself is monitoring this operation. It is being ensured that law-abiding citizens may avoid any trouble during the search, combing, sweep and intelligence-based operations. He further said that during this campaign it is also being ensured that no law abiding citizen face any problem.
