IG Punjab issued important directions regarding the investigation and timely redressal of public complaints

Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that delay in registration of FIR on public complaints will be considered a deliberate carelessness and an indiscriminate action will be taken against the Investigation Officers causing trouble for the citizen. He further said that SP complaints from every district should play an effective role in ensuring registration of FIR on public complaints. He expressed these views while presiding an important meeting in the Central Police Office. At this occasion Addl: IGP Training Punjab, Tariq Masood Yasin, Addl: IGP Operations Punjab, Inam Ghani, Addl: IGP Investigation Punjab Abubakar Khudabaksh Addl: IGP IAB Zulfiqar Hameed, DIG Crimes, Jawad Ahmad Dogar, DIG IAB Ahsan Younas was also present.

During meeting IGP issued directions to further improve the level of investigation and timely redressal of public complaints, he also directed to closely monitor and follow-up the complaints received on IGP Complaint Centre 8787 and also if any officer fails to resolve the issue within deadline should be held accountable and a departmental action should also be initiated against such officers.

He further said that for the capacity building of Investigation Officers refresher courses on latest skills should be completed at earliest and also to speed up the process of training workshops for investigation officers under the supervision of master trainers in all districts. He further said that a checklist should be provided to all investigation officers and while preparing challan, investigation officer will complete the checklist and case file. IGP emphasised strong coordination between operations and investigation so that a flawless and timely action against the anti-social elements can be ensured.
