IGP orders action against criminals

Lahore:- Inspector General of Punjab Police (IGP) Capt (Retd) Arif Nawaz Khan has directed the CCPO Lahore, all RPOs and DPOs to boost up proceedings against criminals involved in theft, robbery, dacoity, murder and other heinous crimes.

He said it is prime responsibility of police to protect lives and properties of people, so that security should be enhanced at shopping malls, markets and trade centers.

The IGP said that implementation of SOPs with respect to banks should be ensured. The officers have been directed to conduct crackdown and operations against dacoits, proclaimed offenders and anti social elements. He emphasized upon high alert security at Imam Bargahs and Mosques and directed that CCPO Lahore, all RPOs and DPOs should personally visit security arrangements. The snipers should be deployed over roof-tops of sensitive places, he said and added that patrolling should also be enhanced. Arif Nawaz said that all available resources should be utilized for full security arrangements and no negligence would be tolerated in this aspect. He also directed to conduct search, sweep, combing and intelligence based operations in all districts of Punjab.
