Elite Force is well trained and professional force exclusively trained for special operations

Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan said that Elite Force is well trained and professional force exclusively trained for special operations, so to reap the benefits of its specialised skills this force should only be used for high profile duties and important operations. He said that elite force should not be involved in routine activities and also should not be deputed on irrelevant places and personalities. He further said that to improve the capacity of Elite Force, all measures will be employed to provide the quality training, fast-moving vehicles, latest firearms and other relevant equipment and in this regard, the assistance and support that can be offered from Central Police Office should not be delayed. IG Punjab Captain (R) Arif Nawaz Khan expressed these views while presiding an important meeting regarding Elite Police Force and Special Operation Unit. At this occasion, Additional IG Elite Shahid Hanif, Director Special Operation Unit Colonel Saad Saleem, Commandant Elite Police Training School Colonel Pervaiz Iqbal, SP Headquarters Elite Syed Jaffar Abbas along with other senior officials were also present.

While briefing IGP, during meeting, Director Special Operations Unit Colonel Saad Saleem told that officials of Special Operation Unit played an effective role in eliminating interprovincial criminal elements during the first week of April this year and before this in July to Nov 2018 officials of Special Operation Unit also performed brilliantly in Kacha Operation, officials of Special Operations Unit are delivering best results with available resources in all circumstances. In his briefing, he also shared the challenges and problems being faced by Elite Force & Special Operations Unit. IG Punjab issued directions to provide all the required latest equipment immediately. He further directed that it is the responsibility of local DPO to provide all the basic necessities to the officials visiting their districts the relevant DPO, s failing to fulfil this responsibility will be held accountable for this.
