Inspector General Police Punjab Captain Retired Arif Nawaz Khan visited Rawalpindi Region,
IG Punjab addressed officers and officials at DARBAR in Rawalpindi Police Lines.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain Retired Arif Nawaz Khan said that protection of lives and wealth of people is prime responsibility of every official of Police and I want to clear that negligence, carelessness shall never be tolerated in official duties. He further said that special initiatives will be taken against the officials involved in corruption, embezzlement, highhandedness and misbehave with citizens and there will be zero tolerance in such cases. He said that we are endeavoring to improve police image and making it public friendly and also examining the reasons of spoilage of Police image in public. IG Punjab assured that we will be successful in improving and restoring the image of Police with hard work, commitment and honesty. He expressed these views while addressing to officers and officials at Rawalpindi Police Lines. RPO Rawalpindi Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir, CPO Rawalpindi Abbas Ahsan, DPO Attock, Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari, DPO Jehlum Hammad Abid, DPO Chakwal Adil Memon, SSP Special Branch, Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi, CTD Officers along with other senior officers were present at this occasion.
IG Punjab Captain Arif Nawaz khan while addressing officers and officials said that we should serve our public and perform our duties without any political affiliations and for this purpose we should not fear anybody except Allah.
He said that police service is a mission more than a service and service of public is not less than a noble deed. We should serve public and take their prayers because there is no way for Punjab Police except showing performance. IG Punjab further said that I have started visits of all ranges across province to know the issues force is facing to resolve them. He said that senior officers should behave their subordinates with good behavior and courtesy. IG Punjab moreover said that in my last tenure record police officers were promoted and this time too I myself take the responsibility of promotions and salaries of Police officers and also subordinates should obey the orders of their seniors and not create an atmosphere in which action should be taken. He further emphasized upon officers that special attention should be given on car theft in Rawalpindi so that properties of public may be secured. He said that change in Thana culture is our mission and initiatives regarding police will be implemented. IG Punjab said facts should be shared with media and good initiatives of Punjab police should be highlighted in coordination with media whereas refresher courses and training will be conducted to enhance capabilities of Police force. On this occasion IG Punjab was told about suggestions and issues by police officials upon whom IG Punjab issued orders for their redressal.
An active police squad welcomed and paid salutations to IG Punjab Captain Retired Arif Nawaz Khan. He laid floral wreath on memorial of martyrs and offered Fateha for higher ranks of Police martyrs. Before police DARBAR IG Punjab paid a visit to RPO office where he was welcomed by RPO Rawalpindi Ahmad Ishaq Jahangir. CPO Rawalpindi gave a detailed briefing to IG about collective crime situation of region and other steps and projects in this regard whereas IG Punjab issued orders for crime control and provision of best service delivery in this regard.
