LAHORE : The City Division police, in a crackdown, claimed to have arrested 271 criminals and seized arms and drugs.
During the crackdown launched on the directions of City Division SP Syed Ghazanfar Ali, police seized 26 pistols, three Kalashnikovs, one gun, 131 bullets, more than 10kg charas and 265 litre liquor. Police busted five dacoit and thief gangs by arrested their 11 members. Five bikes, 11 mobiles phones and weapons were recovered from them.
Moreover, 18 proclaimed offenders of A&B categories and 13 court absconders were also arrested. Police seized Rs 135,000 during an action against gamblers. As many as 111 persons were arrested for violating the laws regarding kite flying, wheelie, rent and loudspeaker use.
