IGP's message on international women day...

I salute to women who are serving as DPO and working in special branch, CTD, CPO control room, IT, DPR, police stations, traffic police, PHP, training colleges, SPU and other sensitive institutions.

Increasing trend of women participation in police department shows women trust on this department and there is no gender  discrimination for women in police department. For the very first time in Punjab Police, women DPOs in three districts, three SP Investigations and 82 women in sensitive institutions like CTD are working side by side with male corporals.

These views were expressed by Inspector General Police Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi in a message issued in the wake of women’s day today. He said that women are equal in intelligence, ability and professionalism with men today and especially in police department the role of women is plausible because the performance of duties in police department is different from other departments and they have to counter dangerous challenges for 24 hours.

Women have also to combat against criminals and accused which is a big challenge and I am proud of those women who are working with bravery and boldness in police department. It is worth remembering that, around 4269 women are working in different branches of Punjab Police in which there are 13 SPs, 06 ASPs, 33 DSPs, 01 Additional director computer bureau, 1 Assistant director, 7 psychologist, 29 Inspectors, 26 Assistant, 03 Stenographer, 380 sub inspector, 228 lady traffic wardens, 01 senior Clerk, 12 junior clerks, 85 ASIs, 153 head constables, 3209 constables and 82 women corporals in CTD.
