Inspector General Police Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi address at Police Darbar at Police Line Headquarter Rawalpindi and Police College Sahala

For provision of quality education to the children of Punjab Police officials MOU, s are being signed with best educational institutes

Inspector General Police Punjab, Amjad Javed Saleemi said that it is his primary responsibility to take care for the welfare of every officer and official, so in this regard the problems of police force will be addressed at every level. For provision of quality education to the Children of Punjab Police officials MOU,s are being signed with best educational institutes, and policy of medical insurance from welfare fund will also be implemented soon. He further said that police department has best accountability system and it will continue to reward dutiful, competent and responsible officer and will take stern departmental action against in-competent officers and officials because this brave and dutiful force has duty to its martyrs and has no place for incompetent ,careless and irresponsible personal.

He expressed these views while addressing police darbars at police line headquarter Rawalpindi and Police Training College Sihala. At this occasion RPO Rawalpindi Region Ahmad Ishaq Jhangir, CPO Rawalpindi Abbas Ahsan and DPO, s of Rawalpindi range along with other officers and officials from special branch, CTD, Traffic and Highway patrolling police were also present.

IG Punjab while addressing officers and officials at police Darbar said that to establish a public friendly police force is one of his important preferences so after taking charge as IGP he took practical steps to address issues of police force including the transfer posting of police officers and officials according to the will of every official to eliminate the “sifarshi” culture. He further said that process of promotion of officers and officials meritoriously is also progressing rapidly and problems and hindrances in this process are being eliminated. In this regard so far 260 officers have been promoted and a seniority list of 399 inspectors has also been finalised & this process will be completed by 31st March.

IG Punjab expressed his hope that since problems of police force are being solved now, so Punjab police will also evolve as more public friendly police. Cameras have been installed in the rooms of SHO, s throughout Police Stations in Punjab so that people can meet SHO, s without any problem and can share their problems in good environment. He further opined that all SHO, s will serve public with honesty and integrity and will help me achieve my objective of serving the people in best way.

IG Punjab further said that to increase the capacity of Punjab Police, it will be trained using latest technology and advanced training methods, training schools are being established in all district police lines where police trainings on use of modern technology and public dealing will be imparted to police officials. He also shared that for physical fitness of police officials and officers gyms has been established in all district police lines, suggestion of  providing budget at POLICE Station level to meet general  expenses is also under consideration.

IG Punjab also said that as source services of Retired Police Officers and officials will also be utilised to further improve the policing standards. At this occasion many officers and officials shared their problems with IGP, upon which IGP issued orders for speedy redressal of the problems saying that if there is no action on their problem till 28th February, the relevant person can come and meet me personally in my office.
