Police have arrested three suspects, including a woman and her friend, in a murder case in Kasur’s Ganda Singh area, Express News reported on Sunday.
A police official told Express News that the victim’s wife Kulsoom Bibi had developed a relationship with Asad and the two had wanted to get married. In a bid to get rid of Ghulam Rasool, the couple decided to murder him.
On the day of the incident, Kulsoom Bibi called Asad and Sadiq to her home. Later, the accused strangled the victim to death while he was sleeping. After committing the murder, the suspects dumped the victim’s body in nearby fields and fled the scene.
Meanwhile, Kasur DPO Muhammad Shahzad Asif announced a cash prize and appreciation certificates for the police team that apprehended the suspects. Earlier, police apprehended a suspect, who shot and killed a man during a robbery in Okara.
Police received a tip off that the person involved in a murder-cum-robbery case had been spotted in the area. The police team raided a hideout and managed to nab the culprit. The accused was identified as Aslam Bhutta.
During interrogation, it was discovered that the suspect was a school teacher. Aslam and his accomplices, identified as Saeed, Nisar, Amanat and Liaquat, had shot dead Rasheed and injured his brother during a robbery.
