LAHORE: Punjab Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi on Monday visited the Old Anarkali Police Station and directed the officials concerned to restore the building to its original condition. He also told them to complete the ongoing construction work on time. The IGP had earlier visited the police station and ordered to renovate the historic building while also providing facilities to the staff working there. To review the progress on construction work of barracks, lockups, washrooms and other newly-constructed/renovated rooms, Saleemi on Monday visited the site once again.

He directed to establish a museum within the premises of the police station and told the officials to remove electric poles while also taking up the beautification of the green belt outside the station. On the occasion, the IGP was briefed that while renovating the historic building, efforts were also underway to provide modern facilities to the staff. He was informed that the construction/renovation work was in its final phase and would be completed within the next few days.
