RPO video conference chaired by Inspector General Police Punjab

Five hour prolonged RPO video conference chaired by Inspector General Police Punjab at CPO today. All reported crimes of Punjab analyzed in previewed in conference. Strategy finalized to curb crime and every month RPO conference will be held decided today. IGP Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi will personally will start his tours to review crime. Initially his visit of Sheikhupura, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi was decided in this regard.

After completion of appointment of best crime fighter officers across province, the criminals will be chased now and force will work by day and night for provision of full relief to public. In order to protect the province a comprehensive operational strategy have been chalked out for these crime fighter officers by which every criminal will be given an exemplary punishment besides, ensuring protection of wealth and lives of people. RPO conference will be held every month in order to examine the crime situation decided in conference today.

This was stated by Inspector General Police Punjab Amjad Javed Saleemi while addressing All RPOs DPOs through video link conference at Central Police Office Lahore whereas Additional IG Training Punjab Tariq Masood Yasin, Additional IG operations Punjab Azhar Hameed Khokar, Commandant Punjab Constabulary Additional IG Kanwar Shahrukh, Additional IG welfare and Finance Rao Sardar, Additional IG investigation Abu Bakar Khuda Buksh, Additiona IG Elite Shahid Haneef, Additional IG CTD Raye Muhammad Tahir, Additional IG PHP Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir, Additional IG Special Branch Zaeem Sheikh, DIG Traffic Akhter Abbas, DIG SPU Sultan Ahmed Chaudhary, DIG Establishment II Sajjad Hassan Manjh, DIJ D& I Ahsan Younus, DIG Logistics and Procurement Raye Babar Saeed, DIG Establishment I Zubair Dareshak, AIG operations Owais Malik, AIG Finance Ghazi Salah ud Din, AIG Admin Asad Sarfraz along with other senior officers attended the conference.

In the conference a strategy of strict action was decided against proclaimed offenders, Court absconders, car and motor cycles lifters and drug paddlers. In order to stop transportation of theft car and motor cycles to other provinces, the police pickets at borders will be made functional and strict action will be taken against those who cross the borders. It has been decided to keep permanent coordination of all field officers in this regard so that vehicles lifting may be obstructed. Furthermore, it was also decided in the conference that all recovered vehicles, motor cycles and other articles will be handed over  to their real owners and vehicles and motor cycles will be sent to police headquarters whose owners have not been identified.

In the conference the implementation of already evolved operational strategy by IG Punjab particularly for Lahore police was reviewed in detail relating to elimination of crime. CCPO Lahore BA Nasir told IGP that the police stations of Lahore have been divided into three categories according to crime graph in which 35 police stations fall in A category, 25 in B and 24 in C category. CCPO Lahore further told that 150 special operation teams have been constituted besides, re-deployment of PRU and Dolphin Squads. On the basis of Rescue 15 calls crime mapping and tracking of hardened criminals, effective checking of motor cycles, deployment of anti vehicle lifting squad on pickets, there has been decline of 27% reporting of theft and 20% decline in motor cycles lifting. In addition to it there has been 43% decline in road robberies since last two months.

It has also been discussed in the conference that police force will only be deployed for crime fighting and officials who were deputed with retired officers and unauthorized person will be withdrawn during last two weeks 236 protests have been reported across province having 154 protests, 18 rallies, 20 roads blocked, 15 sits-in and 29 strikes were reported which have been managed through existing force already under shorted and this is the reasons that decision of the with drawl of the force have been taken.

In the conference a comprehensive and strict pre-emptive strategy has also been finalized in order to stop theft, dacoity with murder, child abuse and other street crimes. All field officers will be responsible to implement this strategy in its true latter and spirit in their respective districts with the view to maintain the police public friendship.

The conference also discussed the progress of CTD in detail. Rai Muhammad  Tahir while briefing in this regard told that to stop the activities of extremist on social media 5964 sites have been detected and among them 4385 have been blocked so for. He further told that the persons who were involved in financial assistance of terrorists 35 cases have been registered and 56 were arrested whereas 24 have been convicted. He further added that the sectarianism has been totally under control and no incident in this regard has been reported from 2018 till date.

In the conference the establishment of Alternate Dispute Resolution Committee for resolution of public issues have been discussed in detail and all field officers briefed IG Punjab that they have finalized the names of nominated persons of the committees on which IG Punjab directed Additional IG special branch Zaeem Iqbal that the process of verification of nominated persons of these committees should be completed within one week so that these committees may become functional. He added that with the help of these committees the petty issues of people will not only be solved but it will also dis-burden police stations and courts and also saved the precious time and money of people.
