Police department is a very important organ of the state, which is responsible to protect the lives and properties of the people beside the maintenance of law and order. The officers and JAWANS of the police force are discharging their duties round the clock for the said purpose despite of the limited resources and other difficulties.
 
This was stated by IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera in his official statement issued here today in Lahore.
 
Provincial Police Chief further said that in the war against terrorism, from Sipahi to the IG, hundreds of police officers gave away their lives and will continue to embrace martyrdom for the security of the province.
 
Mushtaq Sukhera further stated that unfortunately this important national institute including its Head is continuously being criticized by some forces. He said that we took the oath to protect the constitution and law and we are responsible to ensure its implementation and it is also our sole duty we take adhesive action against the law violators.
 
Provincial Police Chief said that police officers will be held accountable if found guilty using excessive powers, but sanctity of the national department should not be distorted by holding courts on the roads.
 
Sukhera further stated that his 32 years professional career is witness that he always observe the constitution and law and never misused his powers and always work to provide justice to the common man.
 
IG Punjab said that the people of Balouchistan are a spectator that the law and order situation of the province was very aggrieved when he was appointed as Police chief, but he not only reorganized the police force but also remain determined to protect the lives and properties  of the people by facing 3 suicide attacks directly.
 
Sukhera stated that despite of being the Head of the biggest Pakistan police force, he was criticized baselessly by some circles which is irresponsible and pathetic.
