This was disclosed by Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Javed Iqbal while addressing the 940 passed out Jawans of 13th batch of Elite Police Training at Bedian road training centre, Lahore. Addl. IG Training Sarmed Saeed, Addl. IG Operations, Punjab, Rafique Hasan, Addl. IG Investigation Azam Joyia, Addl. IG PHP, Hamayun Raza Shafi and other police officers were also present on this occasion.
The IGP told that the said proposal will be implemented from next year and all financial assistance by C.M Punjab, has already been provided for the purpose.
According to this plan, in all big cities, i.e, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan separate and independent police lines of the Elite Police Force will be setup.
While addressing on the occasion the IGP stressed upon the Jawans to serve the people with the spirit of devotion and dedication. He asked the Jawans to focus their energies on the purpose for which they get training.
The IGP was explained regarding the achievements of Elite Police Force since its inception it was told that as a result of 7961 successful operations, 10248 criminals have been arrested while 602 hardened criminals were killed at the hands of Elite Police Force.
In other different operations 250 rocket launchers and grenades have been recovered from terrorists. Similarly, 1120 stolen cars, cash of Rs. 3,37,63,485 besides 8630 kg drugs have been recovered, so far, by Elite Police Force.
The IGP said that this force was playing an exemplary role in the province and various measures were afoot to enhance its capacity to cope with the present challenges of security.
The IGP also thanked to Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Ashfaq Pervaiz Kiani for extending his cooperation in training process.
Later on, the IGP distributed prizes among the best passed out Jawans of the batch.
