Police nab two outlaws after shoot-out

The police claimed to have arrested two outlaws after a brief shoot-out within Peoples Colony police station precincts on Monday, Express News reported.
A police official said that three outlaws were in the area on a motorcycle when a Dolphin Police Force team intercepted them. He added that after spotting the police, the culprits opened fire on them and tried to escape.

He maintained that officials retaliated and a shoot-out occurred. However, after a brief exchange of fire, police managed to nab the two suspects. The suspects were injured while their accomplice managed to flee the spot under the cover of fire.

The arrested outlaws were identified as Shahzad Javed and Waqas Tariq, while their accomplice was identified as Waqar Iqbal. The police team also confiscated a pistol and a motorcycle from the custody of the suspects.

While speaking to Express News, Madina Town SP Aftab Ahmed said a case has been registered against the outlaws under sections 324, 186, 353, 7ATA and Arms Ordinance 2015.

He revealed that during interrogation accused Waqas confessed to being involved in several criminal activities. The SP maintained that police were conducting raids to arrest the fleeing suspect.

Earlier, a robber was killed while another was nabbed after being wounded in a police encounter in Gujranwala.

The police said two robbers barged into Ramzan Traders located on Sialkot Road where the shop owner, Muhammad Kamran was present. The robbers began robbing the store during which a man entered the shop. Upon seeing the robbers, the man left the shop and called for help. A Dolphin force squad on patrol reached the site and challenged the culprits.

The robbers opened fire on the police team and tried to escape. One of the robbers was killed during the encounter while his accomplice was arrested in an injured condition.
