Security plan for Independence Day

LAHORE: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Syed Kaleem Imam says aerial firing, fireworks and violation of the loudspeaker act will not be tolerated on the Independence Day.
He directed all the police officers to make plans for patrolling, especially special motorcycle squads in shifts from Aug 13 to take prompt action against those violating the law.
Chairing a meeting on Friday, the IGP also directed the district police officers (DPOs) of the sensitive districts to lay the security plan for A-category ceremonies under their supervision and ensure the implementation of security standard operating procedures (SOPs).
He also ordered action against the youngsters involved in wheelies or riding bikes without silencers. He asked the officers to ensure the security of public places, parks etc in the province for the ceremonies being held for Independence Day.
