Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam paid a visit to Fountain House Lahore. DIG operations Lahore Shahzad Akbar and PSO to IG Afzaal Ahmed Kausar also accompanied IG Punjab in his visit. IG Punjab was briefed by Fountain House administration regarding the working of different departments of the House.
IG Punjab visited women ward, art therapy center and the library of Fountain House where he met with aged-women, transgender and other inhabitants and inquired about their health. While talking to the administrative staff, IG Punjab said that Fountain House is doing a great job by helping socially deprived and that the management and facilities being provided by the Fountain House are of good quality.
IG Punjab further said that it is a great challenge for the victims to get a place in the society after rehabilitation. He said that he is pleased to see that to counter this challenge the administration of Fountain House is taking measures in this regard and along with treatment, they are training the victims in different skills so that they would get a job and play their role as a responsible citizen afterwards. IG Punjab further said that people are getting advanced treatment by qualified staff which is laudable. While assuring the administration and Doctors IG Punjab said that on behalf of Punjab Police I promise complete cooperation and assistance to the Fountain House.
At the end of his visit, IG Punjab presented souvenir to the management of Fountain House while they presented him the artwork as a gift made by the patients. IG Punjab also wrote his views in the visitor’s book of Fountain House.
After that, IG Punjab Syed Kaleem Imam also paid a surprise visit to Race course police station and inspected the performance of the staff, front desk and duty chart.
