Inspector General of police Punjab Syed Kaleem Imam has said that transfer and postings shall be conducted from ranks of SHO to high level officers of Punjab police in order to make elections transparent and impartial.
He said that Punjab police is utilizing every possible resources to provide peace and order to citizens and maintenance of law and order in Punjab on the event of Eid. He said that before eid post security arrangements have been finalized and security plan has been formulated by which police force will perform their duties at mosques imambargahs and other open locations of Eid gathering. He expressed these views while talking to media after holding charge of his designation at CPO office.
He said that posting and transfers shall be done keeping in view the career record of officers and able industrious honest and reputable police officers shall be given field postings while officers and officials who have political affiliation will be transferred to other provinces.
While answering to a question he said that transparent election and best output of police is my vital responsibility and for this all available steps shall be taken. He further replied that no one will be allowed to show weapons and its use in offices of political parties even in streets and strict action will be taken against violators. He said directions have been issued to police force to implement code of conduct during elections and legal actions will be taken against the violators.
While answering to a question regarding a apprehensions and doubts about impartial elections IG Punjab has said that it is crystal clear that there will be no compromise over transparency of elections. In this aspect he said any complaint against police officer or official for favor in elections is received then a strict disciplinary action will be taken.
while addressing to media he said that in this current era it is also responsibility of media to unveil any breach of law and inform us about that. A quick action will be taken against it while we will leave no stones unturned for grasping criminals and also maintaining a peaceful environment in the province. He moreover said that monthly meeting with media will be ensured and an efficient strategy shall be made with the cooperation of police and media to end crimes from province.
