Police resolve woman murder mystery

MUZAFFARGARH: Police claimed on Thursday to have traced the blind murder of a woman six years after the incident in Rohallanwali.

In 2012, Amreena Bibi, 22, had allegedly been kidnapped and Rohallanwali police had registered a case against unidentified suspects on the complaint of her parents.

Rohallanwali police had started investigation and arrested her husband Mohammad Shafique and four other suspects but they managed to get bail. Since 2012, four DPOs were changed and the investigation remained suspended.

Last week, Amreena’s mother Fazlan Mai filed an application against Shafique and DPO Awais Ahmad formed a team that arrested her husband Shafique. During investigation, Shafique confessed to killing his wife on suspicion of loose morals.

In a press conference, he was produced before the media. Shafique said he strangled her and buried her near a tube-well. On Thursday, Saddar SHO Ammar Yasir Khan recovered body parts on his indication.

SCHOOL SEALED: City DSP Syed Ijaz Bukhari on Thursday registered a case against a school owner and sealed the institute after its boundary wall collapsed on Wednesday. As a result eight students suffered injuries.

The students were shifted to Nishtar hospital, Multan, for treatment.
