The statement of Noreen Bibi widow of late Shehbaz Ahmed Khan, driver constable of Punjab Police (Motor Transport Wing) aired by various t.v channels for not getting the benefits entitled as per policy from the department was not based on facts.
According to details, Shehbaz Ahmed Khan died on august 22, 2012. The department immediately payed the funeral charges to the family of the deceased driver. So far as, the entitled benefits are concerned; the production of succession / guardian certificate is a basic requirement. Despite of so many reminders issued from the department to the widow of Shehbaz at her residence 47-6, Rana Street, Aziz Park, Ichra, Lahore; she was failed to produce the succession certificate to the department so far. It has been learnt that the dispute between Noreen Bibi and mother of Shehbaz is reportedly to be subjudiced in the court. The department will clear all outstanding benefits on receiving the succession certificate presented by the legal hires.
