Hajj 2018: Police to Send Pilgrim Assistants

LAHORE: Punjab Police are going to depute 75 police officials between BPS seven and 17 to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony to serve as volunteers or “Moavineen-e-Hujjaj’ for Hajj 2018.

In this regard, Inspector General of Punjab Police Arif Nawaz Khan has written a letter titled, “Nomination as member Moavineen-e-Hujjaj for Hujj-2018” to all additional IGs, capital city police officers, all regional police officers, DIG Police T&T, traffic and Elite Police Force, Lahore, commandants, PC Farooqabad, PC Sihala and EPTS Lahore and all CPOs and DPOs of Punjab.

The letter asked the officers concerned to send recommendations of the officers/officials, who want to volunteer and serve as Moavineen-e-Hajj during the Hajj 2018. The recommendations would be sent on a prescribed form along with required documents from their respective units/regions.

The IGP asked the officers to send the applications by December 20. It further said the applications of under training officers/officials may not be furnished to this office.

Earlier, Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony had written a letter to Chief Secretary Punjab and IGP Punjab on December 7.
