All black sheeps in Punjab police who indulged in violating the rules, torture on innocent citizens and misuse of their powers have no space in the department.

This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Khan Baig on completion of an enquiry report which was initiated by him on media reports regarding police torture on a Peshawar resident Noor Muhammad (Truck Driver) few weeks back.

While taking notice of the news Khan Baig appointed AIG Discipline Romail Akram as enquiry officer.

Romail Akram reached Peshawar, on October, 28 where he met Noor Muhammad r/o Matni Mohallah, Ghalib Khalil, Peshawar, his doctors and close relatives.

According to the findings of the report, Noor Muhammad was tortured by traffic police officials of Muzaffargarh when he was on his way from Sindh to Peshawar.

As soon as he entered in Muzaffargarh near Girja Chowk, traffic police officials demanded 1000 rupees from him. On being failed to pay this amount to the police officials they tortured him physically, resultantly, he received severe back injury.

According to the enquiry report DSP Traffic, Muzaffargarh,  Asad Ullah Khan, Sub-Inspector, Muhammad Aslam Dasti, Constable Muhammad Ishtiaq, Constable Abdul Jabbar and Driver Constable, Ejaz Hussain were founded to be guilty.

While taking action against these officers / officials, IGP Punjab, Khan Baig immediately suspended the DSP Traffic, Asad Ullah Khan and closed him to CPO Punjab whereas, an FIR was lodged against the above mentioned 04 officials and they were also arrested by the Muzaffargarh police.
