Inspector General of Police Punjab Captain ® Arif Nawaz Khan has directed the officers to utilize all available resources to make foolproof security arrangements on the eve of Eid ul Azha.
While addressing video link RPOs and DPOs conference at Central Police Office today, he further directed the officers to make special parking arrangements at all the main congregations of Eidul Azha across the Punjab province where smartly turned out cops and Razakars should be deployed for security. IG directed the officers to take stern action against those involved in aerial firing and display of arms and said that such acts would not be tolerated.
He directed the officers to set up pickets around the permanent and temporary sacrificial markets of animals across the Punjab province in order to protect the citizens from swindlers and looters.
Arif Nawaz directed the officers to clamp down on those involved in producing and selling indigenous booze besides conducting organized raids to round up the proclaimed offenders especially of Category-A.
He directed the RPOs and DPOs to have zero tolerance approach towards the incidents of criminals’ escape from police custody and take strict legal and departmental action against responsible police officials in this regard.
He directed the officers to allow those organizations to collect hides which had got approval from the government. RPOs and DPOs should take immediate action against defunct organizations involved in collecting hides, he added.
He further directed the RPOs and DPOs to pay attention on the security of recreational places and parks as a large number of people thronged to such places on mega events.
IGP further directed the district and traffic police to set up joint teams and launch a massive crackdown against one-wheelers.
