National Police Martyrs Day Ceremony held at Alhamra Hall Lahore

“I salute to all martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and to save the life, honor and property of the citizens which is the most noble cause in the world” , said by the Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan while addressing the ceremony of National Police Shuhda Day held at Alhmara Hall. The ceremony was arranged by Lahore police to pay tributes to martyrs of Punjab Police. He said that it is a matter of honor and pride for me that I am the commander of a force which is the heir of more than 1400 martyrs. He said that a DIG rank officer is deputed at the CPO to look after the welfare of the families of the martyrs and to solve problems at their door step and a DSP rank officer at district level for this purpose. He also said that all the families of martyrs are like my own family and I will try my level best to solve their problems at the earliest at their door steps. For the welfare of the families of martyrs and to solve their problems Lahore police launched an App “Welfare Eye” under this App the problems of Shuhdas’ families are being solved on just one SMS and we are replicating this App throughout Punjab very soon.

Sports Minister Punjab, Jahangir Khanzada attended the ceremony as chief guest while families of martyrs, Provincial Minister Zakia Shah Nawaz, senior journalist Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Zia Shahid, Wasif Nagi, Raees Ansari, lawyers, teachers and people of every walk of life also attended the ceremony. The chief guest Jahangir Khanzada while paying tributes to the police martyrs has said that I am also a son of a martyrs and this fact is pride for me. He also said that like Punjab Police my morale is also very high and it is my promise as citizen of Pakistan that we will fight against the terrorists till last breathe of life. Punjab Police fighting against the terrorists and anti social elements so courageously and this struggle is a candlelight for whole Nation. During the ceremony children and relatives of police martyrs paid thanks to the police department for being so keen for their welfare.

    

Addressing the ceremony CCPO Lahore, Capt. (R) Amin Wains has said that history of Lahore police is full of sacrifices and we once again assure that every officer and official of Punjab Police is always ready to sacrifice their lives for the protection of life, honor and property of the citizens. He said that the sacrifice of about 300 martyrs of Lahore Police is evident that every officer and official of Punjab and Lahore Police always ready to sacrifice the most precious thing their lives in the line of duty. He also said that police is the main target of terrorists and we lost our best officers and officials during the last few months but our morale is still high because the sacrifices of martyrs gave us courage to serve the nation with zeal and zest. Children and relatives of the martyrs and people of civil society also addressed the ceremony and paid tributes to martyrs. At the end of the ceremony lunch was served in the honor of the families of the martyrs and other participants. Inspector General Police, Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan distributed gift packs among the children of martyrs after lunch.

It is pertinent to mention here that in the start of morning recitation of Holy Quran and Fateh was offered for martyrs at police lines Qila Gujjar Singh and all the police lines at all district in Punjab after Fajar prayer. Inspector General Police, Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz Khan offered Fateh and laid flowers at Yadgar-e-Shuhda at police lines Qila Gujjar Singh. Guard of honor was also presented by police contingent at Yadgar-e-Shuhda. Police officers in all districts early in the morning visited the graves of Shuhda and offered Fateh. Throughout Punjab all RPOs and DPOs arranged special ceremonies on the eve of National Police Shuhda Day to pay tributes to sacrifice of the martyrs. Families of martyrs and prominent figures of every walk of life were also present on the occasion.
