330 Lady Police recruits passing out parade at Police Training Center Chung, Lahore

The Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that the role of women in progress of society and country cannot be denied. The most important element due to which modern nations have developed themselves to an advanced level is that women work equally along with men in those societies. The number of women in Punjab Police were very less a few years back, but now Punjab Police has provided chance to women to prove their abilities by inducting them not only into the executive cadre but I.T trained women are also deployed in front desks, proving them hundreds of jobs. Besides this, fully equipped anti-riot women police squad is always ready to tackle any emergency situation. He further said that Punjab Police is aware of the internal and external challenges faced by our beloved country and is always in action to foil nefarious plans of criminals and anti-social elements.

IGP also said that protection of honor, lives and properties of citizens is foremost responsibility of the Police for which Punjab Police is working day and night with full dedication. Our history is a clear evidence of the fact that officers and officials of Punjab Police have never hesitated to even sacrifice their lives to protect honor, lives and properties of citizens and to maintain rule of law. I hope that Punjab Police, keeping in view its glorious past, will continue to serve citizens as its top priority.

IGP stated this while addressing to the passing out parade of 9th batch of lady recruits at Police Training Center, Chung, Lahore and to a farewell darbar held at Qila Gujar Singh Police Lines, Lahore. IGP said that Lahore Police has a magnificent past and I am proud that I have also been a part of Lahore Police. IGP further said that I had served at the same Police lines years ago as SP Headquarters, where I am giving a farewell speech today, it feels like a home to me.

IGP lauded the services of Lahore police and said that the officers and officials of Lahore police have faced all challenges, including Pakistan Super League final and Zimbabwe Cricket Team’s tour, with dedication and devotion which is a pride for Punjab Police. I expect that Lahore Police will continue to work as serving force for protection of honor, lives and properties of citizens in future as well.

While giving welcome speech to IGP at farewell darbar held at Qila Gujar Singh Police Lines Lahore, CCPO Capt. (R) Muhammad Amin Wains said that the services of IGP for welfare of the police force and to implement Information Technology in policing are commendable efforts. Latest technology oriented projects introduced by the IGP, especially establishing front desks to change typical thana culture, taking approval of government on improved martyrs’ compensation package and changing police uniform, have proved him to be called “welfare IGP” in the history of police.  Introduction of new avenues to modernize policing along with taking practical steps to make police a service delivery force are hallmarks of the IGP Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera, added the CCPO.

At the end, CCPO Capt. (R) Muhammad Amin Wains presented souvenir to the IGP on behalf of Lahore Police.
