Lahore: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera has said that Elite Force acts like a double-edged sword against criminal elements. The Elite Police Training School maintains such high standard that whenever any force in the province needed state of the art training, the Elite Police Training School had been the first choice. National and international institutes have declared training quality of the Elite Police Training School equal to any special training institutes in the world. This is the reason that responsibility to train newly established Counter Terrorism Force was also given to the Elite Police Training School. Continuous refresher courses to CTD’s operational teams are also undergoing at the same training school. IGP stated this while addressing to the participants of 18th batch passing out parade of Elite Force.
IGP also said that the patronage of Punjab government has a great role in quality improvement of Elite Police Training School. The provincial government not only timely provided funds for school’s ongoing projects but also took special interest in deploying best police and army officers which enhanced the quality of training. The training center is also offering Officers Combat Orientation Course, Instructors Course, training to Traffic Wardens, officials of Rescue 1122, Prisons Department, Azad Kashmir Police, Security Division Lahore, Punjab Rangers, Islamabad Police and private security companies’ guards. The IGP thanked Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa for providing services of best officers to Elite Training School and expressed the hope that such cooperation will continue in future as well.
Minister for Counter Terrorism Punjab, Lt. Col (R) Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan Gadhi, was the chief guest while Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab, Jahangir Khanzada, Additional IGP Establishment Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, Additional IGP Operations Punjab, Mohsin Hassan Butt, Commandant Elite Police Training School, Major Ali Nawaz Janjua and other senior police officers were also present on the occasion.
While addressing to the event, Minister for Counter Terrorism Punjab, Lt. Col (R) Sardar Muhammad Ayub Khan Gadhi said that despite limited resource, Elite Force Jawans have made this a marvelous institute by working very hard. He congratulated Elite Force Officers for their consistent hard work and said that due to their dedication, the institute has got the true recognition which was dreamt 19 years ago on inauguration of this institute. He expressed the hope that officials trained by Elite Force will make the nation proud by setting examples of sacrifice and devotion.
506 officers and officials participated in 18th passing out parade, 410 of which belonged to Punjab Police while 96 officials were from Prisons department. The trained officials presented practical show of firing practice, physical and technical skills and countering terrorism attack.
At the end, best performing officers and officials of 6 months training course were awarded with prizes and certificates. Police band played tunes of national songs throughout the event which kept parade participants and audience motivated and charged.
