Farewell Police Darbar in honour of the IGP Mushtaq Sukhera at Rawalpindi

Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera has said that Punjab Police has fulfilled its professional responsibilities with full devotion and dedication and its efforts to overcome terrorism, crimes and apprehend the culprits besides maintaining law and order are highly commendable. The mission of peaceful and protected Punjab will continue in letter and spirit for the protection of lives and properties of citizens as per vision of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif.  

IGP stated this while addressing Police Darbar held in connection with his retirement at Police Lines, Rawalpindi on Tuesday. RPO Rawalpindi, Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja, Commandant Police College Sihala, Suhail Habib Tajik, CPO Rawalpindi, Israr Ahmed Abbasi, DPO Attock, Zahid Ali Marwat, DPO Chakwal, Muhammad Haroon Joiya, DPO Jhelum, Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, senior police officers and officials besides family members of martyrs were also present on the occasion.

An active squad of police officials presented Salami to IGP on his arrival at Rawalpindi Police Line. In his farewell speech, IGP said that working with honesty is the only way to accomplish one’s dreams. Police is most important part of any society as this department is responsible for protection of honor, lives and properties of public and maintaining law and order. IGP thanked Chief Minister Punjab for approving excellent compensation package for police martyrs and for bringing positive changes in police department and typical thana culture. IGP further said that I have always encouraged merit policy and we all can be successful in this world and hereafter by following the same. Punjab Police is one of the best forces and I am proud that I am commander of such a force. He advised all officers and officials to follow policy of justice to be victorious in life.

Mr. Sukhera expressed his gratitude for the support and efforts of Police for coming up to the expectations of people with reference to improve law and order situation in the province. He mentioned steps adopted for promotion of police officials and said that 13000 constables would be upgraded as head constables. He said that the compensation amount for martyrs in connection with terrorism incidents had been doubled and they would get rupees one crore and a five marla house besides free education and health facilities for their kids. He also said that new Human Resource Management System has enabled police department to regulate the services matters efficiently including posting, transfer and promotions on purely merit basis.

RPO Rawalpindi, Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja, CPO Rawalpindi, Israr Ahmed Abbasi and other senior officers lauded the role of IG Punjab Police Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera for his guidance and support in resolving the issues of police officials and providing enabling environment for improving professional competence.

In the end, RPO Rawalpindi and DPOs of the region presented gifts and commemorative photographs to outgoing IGP. IGP offered Fatiha and laid the wreath on martyrs’ monument in Rawalpindi Police Line. IGP also inaugurated new tube well in Rawalpindi Police Line.
