Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has directed to thoroughly check all vehicles, motorcycles and persons crossing the Inter-provincial check-posts. IGP also directed to take prompt action against persons unable to prove their identity without discrimination. He further said that daily briefing of staff working at remote search parks be ensured regarding the search of vehicles and people, especially to the officials working on check-posts of Attock, Mianwali, Bhakar and Rawalpindi.
Officials serving on all such check-posts should be sensitized about importance of their duty and they should be realized that even their little negligence can cause huge disaster that is why they should carefully check all vehicles, motorcycles and persons passing through these check-posts. Women wearing burqa should be checked with utmost care and their feet should be first looked at as the shoes can reveal their gender identity.
While directing AIG Complaints, IGP said, strict action should be taken against the DSPs and SHOs who do not contact the complainant in time in response to the complaints registered through 8787 Complaint Center. Action should also be taken against the officers who, instead of personally contacting the complainant, ask their assistant or reader to respond. IGP further said, AIG Complaints should personally monitor the progress on complaints received through 8787 on daily basis and a weekly performance report should be submitted to him also.

(R) Arif Nawaz, Add: IGP PHP Amjad Javed Saleemi, Add: IGP Welfare and Finance, Shoaib Dastgir, DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG I.T Shahid Hanif, AIG Development, Kamran Khan, AIG Operations, Waqar Abbasi, AIG Logistics, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Monitoring, Abdul Ghaffar Qaisrani, and AIG Complaints, Syed Khurram Ali also attended the meeting.
While briefing the meeting, Add: IGP PHP Amjad Javed Saleemi shared that 31 stolen vehicles and motorcycles were recovered during checking on inter-provincial check-posts from the period of 1st January to 19th February. One most-wanted criminal is also arrested from Mianwali check-posts. He further told that all inter-provincial check-posts are being monitored online in Central Police Office where the performance of officials and their behavior with public is particularly monitored. This is why there are very little complaints against personnel deployed on these check-posts.
IGP directed AIG Monitoring to personally take daily report regarding performance of personnel deployed on these check-posts and to submit fortnightly report to him regularly. Officials with excellent performance should be encouraged on every level, said the IGP.
