In order to improve the services being provided by the Punjab police and to expedite the process of justice system, utilization of information technology for the purpose, besides, to provide public friendly environment in police stations along with the provision of healthy atmosphere to the force at police lines were the main agendas of today’s meeting which was chaired by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore.
Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Operations / Investigations Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, DIG Operations Punjab, Amir Zulfiqar, DIG Headquarters Punjab, B.A Nasir, DIG SPU, Agha Yousaf, DIG Operations, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf and other senior police officers of CPO also attended the meeting. DIG Operations, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf briefed the IGP about a model of police station designed by him having all latest facilities.
On this occasion, IGP directed the police officers to adopt all positive steps in this regard by ensuring the provision of quality food to the force at Police Lines. He also said that proposal of provision quality food to them at subsidized rates is also under consideration. Mushtaq Sukhera further directed the officers that 8787 service which was launched in Punjab police for redressal of public complaints could be used as central service with a view to provide consecutive justice to the complainants also.
The PPO also reviewed the computerization of Criminal Record Management System (CRMIS) of Punjab Police in detail. While briefing IGP in this regard, SP CRO, Lahore, Nadeem Abbas told that through Mega Matcher Machine which was recently purchased for finger print’s record management as many as 100,000 finger prints of the hardened criminals have been incorporated in finger print matching system, whereas, the rest of 125,000 will be the part of this system very shortly.
He also told that the process of computerization of manual record of all police station of Punjab is also under process. The meeting also reviewed the preparation of software of legal department with a view of maximum utilization of information technology for the justice system process and formalities.
While briefing in this regard, AIG Legal, Ahsan Younas told the IGP that this software will be completed very soon which will have the subject wise apps of pending cases, the decisions and directions of the honorable courts, progress and record of all writ petitions, added Ahsan Yousas.
