Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has said that technical supervisors are being inducted to supervise and monitor I.T systems at district level. The supervisors will be responsible for the maintenance of computer systems being used by the Front Desk and police station officials. IGP further said, as “Roznamcha” and FIR systems are online from January 1, 2017, it is responsibility of the DPOs to monitor and supervise it, because newly introduced systems need appropriate monitoring. Moharars and investigation officers should ensure that computerization of police record is done in their presence to avoid any errors, because Police Station Assistants working on front desks are newly inducted and are not well aware of legal complications.

Inspector General of Police Punjab issued these directions while addressing to a video-link RPOs conference held at Central Police Office, All Regional and District Police Officers participated in the conference through video link whereas Add: IGP Operations/Investigation Punjab, Capt. (Retired) Arif Nawaz, Add: IGP Welfare and Finance, Shoaib Dastgir, DIG I.T, Shahid Hanif, DIG Operations Punjab, Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, DIG Headquarters Punjab, B.A Nasir, DIG Welfare, Waseem Sial, DIG Telecommunication, Ehsan Tufail, AIG Development, Kamran Khan, AIG Operations Punjab, Waqar Abbasi, AIG Logistics, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Monitoring, Ghazi Salah-ud-din, AIG Complaints, Syed Khuram Ali, AIG Admin and Security, Zubair Dreshak and other senior officers of CPO were present in the meeting.
IGP also said that Dak load from RPOs and DPOs offices to police stations will be lessened due to this online system because applications of citizens submitted at Regional and District Police Offices will automatically be forwarded to the Circle Officers or SHOs through online system and it will also help in timely legal proceeding on applications by the concerned officers.
While further directing all DPOs during Video-link conference, he said that cases of departmental promotion of police officials should be completed and meritorious officials should be promoted through promotion board meetings without any delay. Officers responsible for deliberate delay in promotions of police officials should not expect any favor for them as well. IGP also said that all DPOs should ensure that in every police station of their district, booklet of new welfare policy must be available so that police officials should be aware about the welfare policy developed for them. IGP gave strict directions to all DPOs to make fuel bills generation mechanism more transparent, it should be ensured that bills are genuine and according to policy.
