Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera has directed to improve response time to 15 emergency calls and to take departmental action without discrimination against officials responsible for the delay. He also directed to develop a performa for registration of tenants and all members living in a house. Teams should be built that collect information about whereabouts of tenants and their occupation.
Inspector General Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera stated this while presiding a high-level meeting held at Central Police Office on Friday. Addl: IGP Operations and Investigation Punjab, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, CCPO Lahore, Capt. (R) Muhammad Amin Wains, Commandant PC, Hussain Asghar, DIG Operations Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, DIG Investigation Lahore, Sultan Ahmad Chaudhary, AIG Operations Punjab, Waqar Abbasi, SSP Investigation Lahore, Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera and SP Headquarters Lahore, Ghulam Mubashir Maken were also present in the meeting.
CCPO Lahore, while briefing IGP on patrolling plan of Lahore Police to prevent street crimes, said that, after identifying crime pockets in all divisions of Lahore, Dolphin Force is deployed for patrolling on eight hours shift, while PRU Force is also patrolling along with Dolphin Force in different crime hit areas of the city. Dolphin and PRU Forces are being monitored by concerned officers and sector incharges along with usage of trackers and android phones with GPS system. Dolphin and PRU Squads have arrested 288 perpetrators involved in street crimes, while arresting 80 hardened proclaimed offenders is also on credit of PRU and Dolphin, he also added.
IGP directed to utilize all resources to apprehend criminals involved in recent street crimes and asked to call a meeting of the teams working on it to brief IGP in detail about the latest progress in this regard. He further directed to improve monitoring of Dolphin and PRU Forces’ patrolling and to make the patrolling effective in preventing crimes in crime-prone areas of the city.
While taking briefing on progress of Millat Park Incident’s investigation, IGP directed CCPO Lahore and DIG Operations Lahore to conduct special search operation in two kilometers radius of the crime scene and ensure arrest of accused immediately. IGP further directed that four special investigation teams working on this case should brief him in person about the latest progress by the next day. He said, protection of honor, lives and properties of the citizens is the primary responsibility of the Police and the arrest of accused of five murders is a challenge for Police force. To strengthen the sense of protection and security in citizens, it is a matter of utmost importance to apprehend accused of this case.
