In order to ensure the fool proof security of the children and to control the lost and missing children incidents in Punjab, a comprehensive policy has been approved by the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera in a meeting held at Central Police office Lahore. All senior officers including operations/investigation attended the meeting.
This Policy will immediately be implemented across Punjab and all field officers have been issued direction in this regard.
According to this policy every SHO will be bound to immediately lodged the FIR just after receiving the application by the complainant regarding missing / lost of their children particularly, when the accused will be unknown.
No negligence, delay, inefficiency will be accepted in this regard and strict action will be taken against the reporting officers who founded to be guilty in this regard.
According to this policy the SHOs and investigation officers will remain in constant liaison with complainants besides to ensure the installation of CCTV camaras at hot spot areas like Railway Stations, Bus Terminals, Shrines and at Public Parks.
The field officers will also ensure the vigilant and consecutive monitoring of the Billiards and video games clubs in their respective districts and areas.
The patrolling around the markets and shops where underage children worked will also be the part of this policy.
Strict legal action against the professional beggars should also be started by the officers under this policy.
All SHOs will remain in touch with the SHOs of the others areas in case of missing or recovery of a children besides to maintain the record of these children along with their photographs.
A gazztted officer in each district will be the focal person of missing children cases and will be responsible to dispatch the diary within 15 days to crime branch.
All field officers will established regular coordination with the Punjab Child Protection & Welfare Bureau, NGOs and local cable operators under this policy so that in case of any incident quick action would be taken after getting accurate information about such children.
Mushtaq Sukhera also directed the officers to launch a massive Media Campaign for the awareness of the parents in this regard with the request to citizens to extend their cooperation with the Police Department so that the 100% results could be achieved under this policy.
