In order to review the crime situation of the province, to evolve the strategy of preventive policing particularly for the protection of women and children, arrest of hardened criminals, re-fixation of seniority and holding of departmental promotion boards for the effectees of out of turn promotion case, implementation on I.T projects, revamping of Elite Police and security arrangements for elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, a video linked RPO Conference held at Central Police Office, Lahore, today under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera. 

All RPOs and DPOs through video link whereas, Addl: IGPs including Capt. (R) Usman Khattak, Sohail Khan, Capt. (R) Arif Nawaz, Amjad Javed Saleem, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, Faisal Shahkar, CCPO Lahore Amin Wainse, Ali Zulnorain, Rai Muhammad Tahir and other senior police officer were also attended the conference.

The conference reviewed in detail the crime situation of the province for the last 6 months and expressed its satisfaction that as compare to the previous year during the period heinous crime reduced specially the murder cases. The terrorism / suicide attacks / sectarian incidents were also reduced this year and the reduction was recorded -55 %. In 2015 there were 11 cases and in 2016 there were only 5 cases have been registered against these heads. Similarly, in murder the reduced percentage was -5, kidnapping for ransom -61, dacoity / robbery with murder -8, dacoity -36, robbery -20, vehicle snatching -25 and vehicle theft -9 has been recorded.

The conference also finalized the strategy of preventive policing to control the overall crime and particularly against women and children with a view to ensure the 100% security for the children and women in the province.

IGP also directed the field officers to update the record of hardened P.Os so that their arrest could be ensured.

To provide relief to the effectees of out of turn promotion cases, decision of holding departmental promotions, re-fixation of their seniorities and completion of ACRs was also finalized in the conference. It was also decided that the Elite Police Force will be revamped to improve its performance and standards.

IGP was told by the field officers that Human Resource Management Information System (HRMIS) has been completed and all posting and transfers are being made through this system. Mushtaq Sukhera said that with the help of this system, we can provide relief to the public by saving their money and time. He also directed the field officers to ensure the implementation on all I.T projects of the Punjab Police so that through digitized policing we can enter in the modern era.

The conference also reviewed the security arrangements and deployment on the elections of Azad Jammu and Kashmir in detail. IGP was told that for the protection and security of the 414141 voters at 828 polling stations established in 30 districts of the Punjab, 11964 police officers and officials of the department will remain on duty. These officers / officials will be included 29 SPs, 103 DSPs, 208 Inspectors, 516 Sub-Inspectors, 810 ASIs, 584 HCs, 6609 Constable and 2981 Police Qaumi Razakars.
