A security plan finalized to secure 32386 Mosques, 2666 Imambargahs, Taraveeh places, important markets, business centers, official building and all important offices as many as 76578 police officers / officials and private guards will remained on toes particularly during the timings of Aftaar and Sehar. Decisions to complete the pending welfare cases by the end of this weak of the police official’s widows and their children, security of the citizens in Ramadan Bazaars along with their vehicles and motorcycles, and to impose ban on setting up pickets in the province without requirements were made in Video Link RPO Conference held at Central Police Office Lahore, today.
The conference was chaired by the Inspector General of Police Punjab, Muhstaq Ahmad Sukhera. All RPOs attended the conference through video link whereas, Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Establishment Punjab, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, Addl: IGP Special Branch Punjab, Faisal Shahkar, Addl: IGP CTD Punjab, Rai Muhammad Tahir, DIG Headquarters, B.A Nasir, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Salman Chaudhry, DIG I.T, Shahid Hanif, DIG R&D, Ahmad Ishaq Jehangir and other senior police officers of CPO were also attended the meeting.
The Ramadan security plan was finalized according to the demands of the field officers. The DPOs will decide the number of deployment around the mosques and imambargahs as per the evaluated categories i.e. A, B and C of all worship places.
IGP was told that this security deployment will be included 3837 Officers from SP to ASI rank and from Head Constable to Constable rank 21589 including 8557 private security guards and 42595 volunteers.
IGP was further told that 1115 walk through gates and 13728 metal detectors have been provided to the districts and will be installed at the entrances of the mosques / imambargahs for checking of the citizens. The conference also decided that the search and sweep operations, besides, the snap checking of the vehicles at all entry and exit points of the cities will remain continued till the Eid-ul-Fiter.
The conference also decided to impose ban on setting up pickets and it could only be installed temporarily on the basis of intelligence information and will be removed immediately after completion the task.
The conference also decided to take strict action against the bank’s administration on violating the security SOP issued to them by the police department.
IGP also directed the field officers to personally monitor the security arrangements during this holy month so that a peaceful and protected environment could be ensured for the people.
