With a view to make Anti Riot Force and mounted police to be more functional and effective to ensure the maintenance of law and order 10 master trainers are in Turkey these days to get training for the purpose. After completion of their training course they will train 3000 police officials who have already been selected for Anti Riot training. Punjab police also purchased 92 horses for patrolling purposes and repair and construction work of stables has also been completed.
Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera was briefed about the Anti Riot Force during a meeting held at central police office Lahore today. Addl: IGP Welfare & Finace, Suhail Khan, Addl: IGP Operations / Investigation, Capt (R) Arif Nawaz, Addl: IGP Establishment Punjab, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, Addl: IGP Training, Usman Khatak, DIG Headquarters, B.A Nasir, DIG I.T, Shahid Hanif, DIG Operations, Amir Zualfqar, AIG Development, Kamran Khan and AIG Legal Kamran Adil also attend the meeting.
Later, IG Punjab distributed cash reward amounting Rs. 21 lacs and 45 thousands including CC-I among 60 police officers/officials of four districts including Multan, Gujrat, Gujranwala and Muzaffargarh on discharging their duties diligently and efficiently. While addressing the achievers IGP said that this department always encouraged and appreciated the efforts being rendered by the force by performing their duties without any fear.
IGP was also told that among these officials were included seven from district Gujrat who defused the terrorists’ attack at police choki on 20th July, 2015 resultantly the killing of two terrorists of Sipah Sahaba. Similarly, Multan police also stood in main achievers who killed a PO Muhammad Younis involved in 37 different police cases and for which the government has fixed head money of Rs. 20 lacs.
Later, answering the questions of the media IGP told that the Kacha Operation in South has entered into its second phase in which district and elite force’s 300 officials are taking part. He also told that the islands in the area of Rahim Yar Khan particularly Kachi Younis and Daolat Abad have been cleared. He further added the 22 hardened criminals and POs involved in murder, dacoity, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes have been caught by the police whereas one namely Imran Eindhar has been killed during encounter.
