By using the latest technology to improve the investigation system, timely implementation on the court orders, introduction of the central transfer / posting policy, improvement the computerized biometric system, to review all these I.T based initiatives, a high level meeting chaired by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera was held at Central Police Office, Lahore, today.
Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Operations / Investigation, Capt (R) Arif Nawaz, DIG Headquarters, B.A Nasir, DIG I.T, Shahid Hanif, DIG Operations, Aamir Zulfiqar, DIG Operations, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, AIG Operations, Ahsan Younis, AIG Development, Kamran Khan, AIG Logistics, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Finance, Hussain Habib Imtiaz, AIG Complaints, Syed Khurram Ali, AIG Legal Kamran Adil and other senior officers of CPO were also present in the meeting.
The meeting decided to introduce the centralized transfer policy which will be linked with CPO through main server. It will be helpful in future for IGP before issuing the orders of transfer / posting at any level and transparency could also be managed in this regard. The officers who have bad reputation, challaned or have bad service record could not get important postings. In this way the approach culture will also be eliminated from the department.
AIG Legal, Kamran Adil told the IGP that a software has been designed for the maintenance of computerized record of all pending cases lies in honorable courts about the complaints of the police officers / officials. This software will also enable the department for the speedy implementation on the honorable courts orders and all delay tactics in the regard could also be abolished.
The Provincial Police Chief also directed the officers to utilize the latest technology during the investigation procedures. On this occasion, SSP Investigation, Waqas-ul-Hassan told that a Palm Scanner has been purchased for the police department which will be used on trial basis in jails and later the same will be provided to all jails and districts so that through its help all evidences and proves could be collected from the crime scene.
While taking the notice the alleged torture on accused by some investigation officers at police station, Shalimar, Lahore, yesterday, IGP directed the DIG Operations, Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf to suspend the concern officials and hold an impartial enquiry in this matter. He also directed to use the latest techniques and to adopt soft methods for investigation purposes instead of violence.
Meanwhile, IGP was told that all four police officials have been suspended and FIR against them was also lodged and enquiry has been started in this matter.
Keeping in view the heat wave and scorching sun, IGP directed the DIG Operations to provide the net P-caps to the operational staff and to change the uniform of Dolphin Force in this regard.
