In order to review and evaluate the performance of the recently launched Dolphin force in Lahore with a view to protect the citizens, to overcome the street crime and the close monitoring of the streets and roads of the metropolitan, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahamd Sukhera at Central Police Office, Lahore.

(R) Usman Khattak, Addl: IGP Welfare and Finance, Sohail Khan, Addl: IGP Operations / Investigation,  Capt (R) Arif Nawaz, Addl: IGP Establishment Punjab, Dr. Arif Mushtaq, Addl: CCPO Lahore, Capt. (R) Amin Wainse, Commandant Punjab Constabulary, Hussain Asgher, DIG Establishment-I, Azhar Hamid Khokhar, DIG Establishment-II, Sulman Chaudhry, DIG Headquarters, B.A Nasir, DIG Operations Lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf, AIG Operations, Ahsan Younis, AIG Logistics, Humayun Bashir Tarar, AIG Development, Kamran Khan and other senior officers of CPO were also present  in the meeting.

While briefing on this occasion, the CCPO Lahore, Capt. (R) Amin Wainse and DIG Operations lahore, Dr. Haider Ashraf told the IGP that the physical fitness monitoring of the force is being carried out on daily basis. They told that their attendance through biometric system was also ensured, besides, the monitoring of patrolling by Dolphin Force of each beat along with the snap checking report on daily basis was prepared, everyday.

IGP was told that during the month of April, Dolphin Force traveled the distance of 56300 Kilometer, whereas, it received 1564 calls through 15 and its average response time was remained 9 to 10 minutes. The PPO further briefed that the Dolphin Force arrested 18 criminals on the road, recovered 22 weapons, checked 40276 motorcycles / vehicles, impounded 67 vehicles / motorcycles and recovered 18 stolen cars / motorcycles during the month.

IGP was further told that the Dolphin Force is actively involved in community help during their duty and in this regard they assisted 126 effectees of road accidents by providing them first aid. It also helped to clear 109 traffic blockages including the recovery of 9 lost children and help 153 citizens during vehicle breakdown and provide assistance to citizens in 171 miscellaneous issues.

It is pertinent to mention here that under the patrolling plan of Dolphin Force, Lahore has been divided into 138 beats which included City 11, Civil Lines 20, Model Town 35, Cantt: 31, Iqbal Town 17 and Sadar Division has been divided into 24 beats.
