IG Police Attended a Briefing of Welfare & Finance Department at Central Police Office

The dowry amount for the daughters of police officers/officials (in service and Retired) has been increased from Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 30,000/- while for orphan daughters of the employee’s widows enhanced from Rs. 35,000/ to Rs. 40,000/-and maintenance allowance is also enhanced from Rs. 3000/- to Rs 4000/- per month.

This was directed by the Inspector General of Police, Javed Iqbal while attending a briefing of Welfare & Finance department at Central Police Office.

The IGP was told that during the year 2010 an amount of Rs 390.651 millions had been distributed among 10291 official serving, retired and Shuhda’s families.

According to head wise details Rs. 83.670 millions of dowry charges were given to 3075 employees, Rs 91.230 millions of maintenance allowance among 2534 employees, Rs. 15.430 millions for immediate relief/funeral charges among 617 officers/officials, Rs 40.898 millions of Scholarship among 3267 employees, Rs. 13.125 millions of last pay on retirement distributed to 425 employees, Rs. 28.366 millions for medical / financial assistance among 320 employees and Rs. 53.000 millions were given to 53 families of Shuhda.

Addl. IG Welfare & Finance Aftab Sultan, AIG Logistic Sultan Ahmad Ch and AIG Development Ali Aamir Malik were also present of the briefing.
