Government and Law enforcement agencies are taking effective steps for eradication of terrorism from the province but general public should collectively play their role and cooperate with the police for curbing this menace.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police Punjab, Javed Iqbal while addressing at passing out parade of 7th Intermediate course at Police Training School , Chunge, Lahore.
While addressing to 487 pass out Jawans the IGP said that Punjab Police was fighting the war against terrorism on front line and several police officers/officials have embraced martyrdom in the line of their duties.
He urged upon the passed out Jawans for keeping their moral very high and should determine to deal with the challenges of terrorism and extremism in the province.
The Provincial Police Chief advised the Jawans for not misusing their powers and should always well behave with the people who come to them for help. The kind and decent behaviour of Jawans will make people to trust them and have faith in them, IGP advised.
Later, the IGP laid stone of the monuments being constructed for the martyrs of the Punjab Police and inaugurated office block of PTS.
He also visited the Auditorium and inspected the under constructed residential area for police officers/officials. The IGP met with the trainees of different courses at PTS and had lunch with the staff.
The IGP lauded the efforts being rendered by Maj ® Mubashar Ullah commandant PTS Chunge for the training of this batch.
At the end the IGP had briefed the media that 3 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with Faisalabad Bomb blast.
