LAHORE : Punjab police, on the directions of IG Police Punjab Abdul Kareem, released more than Rs1.8 million for the medical treatment of police personnel and their family members. Sharing the details, Police spokesperson said that Rs250,000 has been released to DSP Qadeer Ahmad for the treatment of his wife, while Office Superintendent Abid Hussain Cheema has been provided Rs215,000 for the treatment of his wife. Similarly, Sub-Inspector M Akmal, Wireless Constable Abid Hussain and Lady Constable Farzana Kausar have been provided Rs200,000 each for medical treatment.
He further said that DSP Rauf Ahmad, the widow of late Constable Abdul Ghafoor, and Constables Mazhar Abbas and M Sohail have been provided Rs100,000 each for medical treatment. In addition, Constables Farhan Riaz, Bilal Asim and Shahid Ahmad have been provided a combined amount of Rs267,000 for medical treatment, while Junior Computer Operator M Sohail and Data Entry Operator Hassan Iqbal have been provided a combined amount of Rs95,000 for medical treatment. IG Punjab approved the release of the funds following scrutiny by the Medical Financial Assistance Committee. He said that the welfare of police personnel and their families, who remain engaged in protecting the lives and property of citizens, is a top priority. He further said that under Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with various institutions, Punjab Police is also providing the best medical facilities to its personnel and their families.
