LAHORE:Punjab Police has arrested 10,483 accused and registered 10,039 cases across the province, including Lahore, for violations of the Anti-Kite Flying Act during the current year. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, police recovered 520,890 kites and 16,563 spools of kite string during operations against kite flying and its related violations.In Lahore, more than 5,000 accused were arrested and 4,801 cases registered, while 148,316 kites and 5,901 spools of kite string were recovered. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Abdul Kareem has directed police to take strict action against those involved in kite flying and said the activity would not be tolerated anywhere in the province. He also ordered action against those involved in the online sale of metallic kite string and kites.The IGP appealed to parents to keep their children away from the dangerous activity and urged citizens to report incidents of kite flying to Police Helpline 15.
