LAHORE : Punjab Police continued to address citizens’ grievances through the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre, and in continuation of these efforts, more than 93,000 complaints received at the Complaint Centre during the current year have been resolved.IG Punjab Abdul Kareem said that complaints received from citizens are being resolved within the prescribed timeline in accordance with the SOPs. He said that the monitoring mechanism has been further strengthened to make the performance of the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre more effective. IG Punjab further said that DPOs are personally monitoring complaints received through the 1787 Complaint System to ensure their prompt resolution. Punjab Police spokesperson said that significant progress has been achieved in resolving complaints of various categories, including 44,470 complaints related to registration of cases and 20,925 complaints regarding delayed investigations. Similarly, 6,994 complaints related to police services and 20,927 departmental and other types of complaints have been resolved.
Furthermore, 4,690 complaints regarding the arrest of accused persons, 7,014 complaints related to recoveries, and 4,535 complaints concerning faulty investigations have been resolved. Likewise, 2,131 complaints regarding the cancellation of false cases and 1,571 complaints related to change of investigation have also been disposed of. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem has advised citizens to contact the 1787 IGP Complaint Centre without hesitation in case of any complaint against police officials.
