LAHORE:Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem issued directions to enhance security across the province, including Lahore, on the occasion of Friday prayers. On the directions of the IG Punjab, security at mosques, Imambargahs, shrines, markets and other sensitive places was further strengthened, while effective police patrolling and surveillance around important highways, places of worship and business centers was ensured. IGP directed DPOs and senior officers to remain present in the field and personally review the security arrangements. He said that maintaining law & order and protecting the lives, properties and assets of citizens is the Punjab Police’s foremost priority, and no effort would be spared to achieve this objective. On the special directions of the IG Punjab, police officers met citizens at various mosques after Friday prayers, listened to their problems and took necessary measures for their resolution. IG Punjab directed senior officers to listen to citizens’ problems at their doorsteps and ensure their quick resolution.
