Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor of CCD Rawalpindi embraced martyrdom after being shot by a dangerous proclaimed offender. According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, a CCD Rawalpindi team was conducting an operation to arrest dangerous proclaimed offender Umar alias Cheena within the jurisdiction of Chaklala Police Station when the proclaimed offender opened direct fire on Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor in an attempt to evade arrest. The bullet struck him in the head, resulting in his martyrdom on the spot. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem paid tribute to the great sacrifice of martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor and said that brave officers and personnel of the Punjab Police are rendering the ultimate sacrifice for the protection of the country and nation and for maintaining law and order. Their sacrifices will always be remembered. IG Punjab said that the complete care and welfare of the bereaved family of martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor is a top priority of the Punjab Police. He assured that every possible assistance and welfare support would be provided to the family of the martyr.
Meanwhile, the funeral prayer of martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor was offered at Police Lines Headquarters Rawalpindi. RPO Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa, CPO Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd.) Nadeem Nasir, RO CCD Hassan Jahangir Wattoo, DPOs Chakwal, Attock and Murree, SSP Operations, SSP Investigation, officers of other law enforcement agencies, police officers and personnel, and a large number of citizens attended the funeral prayer. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the mortal remains of martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor. After the funeral prayer, the mortal remains of the martyr were transported to his native area with full state honours. Martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor was serving in CCD Rawalpindi. He leaves behind a wife, children and mother to mourn his loss. On the occasion, RPO Rawalpindi Babar Sarfraz Alpa said that police martyrs are our benefactors, whose unparalleled sacrifices can never be forgotten. The history of the Punjab Police is adorned with countless stories of the immortal sacrifices of its martyrs and Ghazis.
CPO Rawalpindi Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said that the martyrs are our benefactors and that the families of the martyrs will find us standing by their side at every moment. RO CCD Hassan Jahangir Wattoo said that the courage and bravery displayed by martyred Sub-Inspector Adnan Ghayoor while confronting the dangerous dacoit were highly commendable. He said that Adnan Ghayoor Shaheed was a competent and hardworking officer.
