Another Punjab Police Personnel Embraces Martyrdom in the Line of Duty; Two Police officers Injured

Another Punjab Police personnel embraced martyrdom in the line of duty, while two police officers were injured. According to Punjab Police spokesperson, Dera Ghazi Khan Police conducted a raid to arrest dangerous robbers within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station. As soon as the police party approached, the robbers opened fire, critically injuring Elite Police Head Constable Muhammad Imran. Sub-Inspector Imtiaz Alam and Constable Gulab Khan were also injured in the firing.

The injured police personnel were immediately shifted to hospital for medical treatment, where Elite Head Constable Muhammad Imran succumbed to his injuries and embraced martyrdom. In retaliatory police action, two robbers were killed and one was injured, while another injured robber managed to escape from the scene. A search operation is underway to arrest the fleeing robber.

Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem took notice of the incident and sought a report from RPO Dera Ghazi Khan. IG Punjab directed that the injured police officers be provided with the best possible medical treatment. He also ordered that all available resources be utilized to arrest the fleeing robber and make the search operation more effective.

IG Punjab Abdul Kareem paid tribute to the great sacrifice of Elite Police Head Constable Muhammad Imran, who attained the rank of martyrdom in the line of duty. He said that the family of martyred Head Constable Muhammad Imran would not be left alone, adding that their complete care and welfare remain among the top priorities of Punjab Police.

The funeral prayer of Elite Force Head Constable Muhammad Imran, who embraced martyrdom during an encounter with robbers within the jurisdiction of Sadar Police Station, Dera Ghazi Khan, was offered at Police Lines D.G. Khan with full state honours. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the martyr, while police officers laid floral wreaths on his mortal remains.

Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan, Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhary, and officers of the police, Rangers, Special Branch, CTD, CCD and other law-enforcement agencies, representatives of the Bar Association and Press Club, police officers and personnel, media representatives, political and social figures, citizens, and the bereaved family attended the funeral prayer in large numbers.

Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan and Commissioner Ashfaq Ahmad Chaudhary laid floral wreaths on the mortal remains of the martyr and offered prayers for the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter. Additional IG Muhammad Kamran Khan also met the bereaved family, expressed his condolences, and paid rich tribute to the martyr.

On the occasion, Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan said that the martyr's blood would not go in vain and all those involved in the incident would be brought to justice. He said that the martyrs of Punjab Police are the pride of the force, adding that Punjab Police has always made sacrifices for the maintenance of peace and would continue to make every sacrifice in the future without hesitation.

After the funeral prayer, the mortal remains of martyred Head Constable Muhammad Imran were transported to his native village with full state honours, where he will be laid to rest with full state honours.

Later, Additional IG South Punjab Muhammad Kamran Khan visited Teaching Hospital D.G. Khan and inquired about the health of the police personnel injured during the encounter. He commended the injured personnel for bravely and courageously confronting the robbers and directed the hospital administration to provide them with the best possible medical treatment and facilities.
