Punjab Police Continues Crackdown Against Proclaimed Offenders, Habitual Criminals and Court Absconders Wanted in Heinous Crimes.

More than 116,000 proclaimed offenders, over 35,000 court absconders, and more than 12,000 habitual criminals arrested from across the province during the current year. IG Punjab Abdul Kareem commends police teams involved in the arrest of proclaimed offenders and court absconders.

Punjab Police continues its vigorous crackdown across the province against proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals wanted in heinous crimes, court absconders, and criminal elements. According to details provided by the Punjab Police spokesperson, more than 116,000 proclaimed offenders have been arrested from across the province including Lahore during the current year. The arrested proclaimed offenders include 29,000 A-category and more than 87,000 B-category criminals. Punjab Police spokesperson further said that more than 35,546 court absconders have also been arrested from across the province, including 5,254 A-category and 30,292 B-category court absconders. During the crackdown, 12,865 habitual criminals were also arrested, including 4,406 A-category and 8,459 B-category habitual criminals. Punjab Police spokesperson said that in the provincial capital Lahore, the crackdown resulted in the arrest of 26,868 proclaimed offenders, 11,229 court absconders, and 5,203 habitual criminals. Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem appreciated the performance of the police teams involved in the arrest of proclaimed offenders and court absconders and commended them. He directed that operations for the arrest of proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals, and court absconders should continue with greater effectiveness.
